Army Secure Final Berth; U-23 Div-II Semi-Finals

Nuwan Alwis’s 143 (4x14, 6x3) wasn’t enough to stop Army from securing their final berth in the Under-23 Division-II final, as they thrashed Kurunegala YCC by nine wickets in the semi-final played at Dambulla, on Sunday.


Kurunegala YCC 107 in 38.5 overs and 358 all out in 91.4 overs (Nuwan Alwis 143, N. Karunaratne 53, Dharshana Mahawatte 27, Chamikara Edirisinghe 41, Nandika Abeysinghe 29; Anushka Samarathunga 3/56, Tharidu Dharshana 2/45, Roshan Jayatissa 3/87)

Army SC 389 all out in 78.1 overs and 81 for one wicket in 12.1 overs (Mohammed Feshal 59 n.o.)

Navy In Massive Win

Navy’s left-arm leg-spinner Dulanjala Mendis took a match bag of 11 wickets to guide his team to a massive 324-run win over Negombo CC, in their Under-23 Division-II semi-final match which ended at the Welagedara Stadium, Kurunegala, on Sunday.

Negombo, chasing 394 for victory, were bundled out for paltry 69.


Navy SC 304 all out in 83.5 overs and 267 all out in 76 overs (Sanjeewa Liyanage 82, Malith Cooray 46, Oshan Kumara 45, Dilan Chandima 25; Malshan Gunasinghe 5/83, K. Sineth 2/50)
