In what was seen as one of the toughest encounters in the recent past, the Army SC, in its second round encounter at the ongoing Caltex Super League Championship, trounced its rival, Police SC scoring 30-20 on Saturday (19).
The Army SC scored their points off three goals and three penalties but Police SC got their points from five penalties and a try, though Police led 14-13 at half time.
In the twentieth minute Army SC responded with a penalty and a try, thus going ahead scoring 10-6, though the Police SC did extremely well with its enhanced skills. The Police SC lost the first round game (26-3) but its entry in the second minute increased their lead.
Army SC\'s T. A Silva and Jayasuriya converted two tries into goals paving the way for the Army SC to emerge triumphant.
