Army Role in Construction of School Wall Commended

At the request of the principal and teachers at Mannar Thevanpiddy Roman Catholic Tamil Mixed School, 19 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI) troops completed the final stage of constructions in the front perimeter wall and outdoor stage of the school and formally vested it in the students on the annual prize-giving day (9 April).

The project was done on the guidelines given by the General Officer Commanding - 65 Division, Major General Tikiri Dissanayake and under the close supervision of the Commander - 651 Brigade, Brigadier Wasantha Bandara.

At the inaugural occasion, Lieutenant Colonel Lasantha Senevirathne, Commanding Officer-19 SLLI and Lance Corporal A.P.S Amarasinghe who decorated the open stage with colourful images were specially honoured at the annual prize-giving in appreciation of their service, rendered to the school.

The Chief Guest, Most Rev. Dr. Fidelis Lionel Emmanuel Fernando, Bishop of Mannar presented special mementos to those Army personnel and openly commended the support given to the school by the Army. Running sneakers | Air Jordan
