The 27th ‘Eliyakanda Speed Hill Climb - 2023’ held on during the weekend (18-19 Feb) in Matara Eliyakanda Motor Track enabled participants of the Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Committee to win several trophies beating a few hundreds of riders drawn from many corners of the island.
Following riders shone in four events as follows;
Corporal J.M.S Jayalath of Corps of Engineer Services secured the 3rd place in the 125cc up to 250 cc Speed Trail bike open event.
Corporal B.I Maduranga of Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police won the 1st place in the SM-Super Motard 250/450 cc open event in addition to his gaining the 3rd place in the Sport Touring 600cc open event.
Private L.B.D Senevirathne of Gajaba Regiment secured the 4th place in the SM - Super Motard 250/450cc open event.
Major General Indu Samarakoon, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Motor Sports Committee provided the necessary facilities, guidance and inspiration to the riders.
