Ven Talagala Sumanaratana Nayake Thero’s Talagala Sri Siddhartha Foundation and Tan Nagak & Kee Meng Leng Foundation Limited (Singapore), very active in the supply of relief dry ration packs among low-income group families across the country in the past couple of months extended their joint helping hand to the deserving in Matara district at the invitation of the Army.
Accordingly, selected 650 low income families in Kamburupitiya Divisional Secretariat areas, Dicikwella Kumburegoda temple area and Kotapola Naalape Community Center area received those dry ration packs during 23-24 June under two phases.
The donation programme was coordinated by troops of the 613 Division under the guidance of Major General Mohan Rathnayake, General Officer Commanding of the 61 Division. Colonel K.V.I.L Jayaweera, Commander, 613 Brigade, Senior Officers, state officials, Officers and Other Ranks supported the distribution project.
