A consignment of 23,780 kg of organic fertilizer produced in the Minneriya 7 Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery (SLA) premises was delivered to the Lakpohora Company Limited on Friday (25).
To be in line with instructions given by the Green Agriculture Operation Centre, headed by General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, all island-wide Army installations with space available took an initiative in producing organic fertilizer that could be used for the Yala season.
The production, made possible by Lieutenant Colonel H.C.H Harischandra, Commanding Officer, 7 Light Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery was also present at the time the stock of 23,780 was delivered to the Lakpohora Company Limited representatives.
