Army Players Win Overall Championship in National Tug of War Championship 2023

The 19th National Tug of War Championship 2023, organized by the National Tug of War Association took place at the Samanala ground, Galle on Saturday (16 Dec) where 20 leading Sports Clubs of men and women vied for supremacy.

Seven teams representing the Sri Lanka Army secured six Championships in several categories, in addition to the overall championship, the Army team clinched.

The General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division, Chairman of National Tug of War Federation and Chairman of the Sri Lanka Army Athletics Committee, together with the supervision of the Coordinating Officer of Sri Lanka Army Tug of War Committee and the Commanding Officer of 15 Drone Regiment Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment contributed to the success of this championship by encouraging the players.

The following achievements were secured by Army Tug of War players:

Overall Championship

640 kg (Senior Men) – Championship

560 kg (Senior Women) – Championship

Under 23 Women – Championship

Under 23 Men – Championship

Open (Men) – Championship

Open (women) - Championship
