The National Tennis Championship held at Sri Lanka Tennis Association's glass house on Friday (31) was competed by more than 200 Tennis players, drawn from all corners of the island, reprersenting respective Sports Clubs.
The finals in the year’s tournament saw Sergeant E.S.R Fernando of Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and Bombardier W.M.C Uthpala Kumara of 14 Sri Lanka Artillery emerged as Champions in Doubles (under 35 year) category.
Necessary instructions and guidance were given to Army players by Colonel P. Vithanage, Secretary, Army Tennis Committee. Army achievements are as follows;
