Army Personnel Support ‘Shramadana’ Campaign

Troops serving under the Security Force Headquarters – Central (SFHQ-C) contributed to a Shramadana Campaign in Kahagolla area on Friday (10) on the instructions of the Commander, Security Forces-Central (SF-C), Major General A. P. De Z Wickramaratne.

At the request of the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB), troops of 7 Sri Lanka Signal Corps (SLSC) and 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (SLEME) took part in the Shramadana campaign.

During the programme, they cleaned natural water resources either sides of the Bandarawela – Haputale road which have been polluted by humans.

A total of 20 other ranks at 7 SLSC together with 2 (V) SLEME troops and members of the NWS & DB contributed to the campaign with the coordination of the NWS & DB at Bandarawela.

State officials and civilians in the area gave their fullest cooperation to the success of the programme.
