With the intention of popularizing Football in Kilinochchi area, a Football tournament was organized by Security Force Headquarters, Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on Monday (7) at Central College grounds, Kilinochchi.
The tournament was organized on the direction of Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe, commander, SFHQ-KLN under two categories, Civil and Army.
31 civil foot ball teams participated in the tournament and Jagawtiper Sports Club became champions under the civil category.
In the Army’s final round, 20 Gajaba Regiment beat the 5 Mechanized Infantry Regiment and emerged Champions.
Major General Sudantha Ranasinghe and General Officer Commanding, 65 division delivered trophies to the winners.
