A seminar on English Language and Literature was organized by the soldiers of 523 Brigade in Nunavil Jaffna for the students who sit for the G.C.E.(Ordinary Level) examination this month. The seminar held at Kaithady Muthukumarswamy School on 6th December was attended by more than three hundred students and teachers in the area.
Mr. J. M. H. M. Pieris, a well experienced English Language Teacher from Basilica Maha Vidyalaya, Ragama conducted the seminar which was highly commended by the attendees at the end of the day.
Army donated a stock of school items on the occasion and model question papers were distributed among the students during the seminar. The participants were also provided with meals and transport by the 18th Battalion of the Gemunu Watch and the 7th Battalion of the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
The seminar was coordinated by the Civil Affairs Officer of 523 Brigade on the instructions of Brigade Commander Brigadier D. A. P. N. Dematampitiya.
