With the support of medical supplies, provided by the government of Pakistan, the Security Force Headquarters-Central (SFHQ-C), in order to ensure health condition of Meeriyabedda mudslide victims, conducted separate medical clinics at Poonagala Tamil Vidyalayam, Poonagala Tamil Primary School, Poonagala Subramanium Hindu Kovil and Mahakanda Tea Factory premises on Friday (21).
After installing Pakistan-gifted tents and using essential drugs, a team of six doctors, examined more than 276 victims, housed in those places and prescribed necessary medicine.
The arrangement was initiated on the directions of Major General Mano Perera, Commander, SFHQ-C whose troops tirelessly conducted search and rescue operations in Meeriyabedda after the disaster struck on October 29.
