Troops of the 66 Division serving under the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) on account of forthcoming Vesak organized a mobile eye clinic and a donation of spectacle to the needy people in Pooneryn during May 14 - 15.
The clinic got underway of Vigneshwaran Vidyalaya, Pooneryn with the participation of a medical team led by Dr Nimal Karunasiri of Vishwaparamee Foundation Colombo who sponsored the purchase of the spectacles.
During the two-day clinic more than one thousand patients were examined before they were recommended for offer of free spectacles, sponsored by the same Colombo based organization.
Brigadier G.W.D.K Jayathillake, General Officer Commanding, 66 Division inaugurated the clinic together with sponsors and several senior officers.
