Army NCOs Receive Vocational Training Certificates

The Non Commissioned Officers’ Training School (NCOTS), Kalaoya in collaboration with Tokyo Cement Company made arrangements to  award National Vocational Qualification - Level 3 (NVQ-3) certificates to 90 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCO), to serve as Masons in the Sri Lanka Army upon retirement during a ceremony, held at ‘A Y S Gnanam’ Construction Training Academy at Dambulla  on Thursday (22) .

These 90 NCOs under the supervision and guidance of the NCOTS and Tokyo Cement Company passed the course and qualified at the ‘Recognition of Prior Learn Test,’ held to assess their vocational knowledge before awarding Vocational Certificates to all of them.  

Brigadier K.D.C.G.J Tilakarathne, Commandant-NCOTS together with   Lieutenant Colonel D.R.N Hettiarachchi, Commanding Officer-NCOTS, Mr Mauli Gunarathne, Tokyo Consultant Engineer, Mr Bilee Walpola, Director Tokyo Sales, Mr Meril de Silva, Director E.J De Silva Company and Mr. H. M. Jayatissa and Coordinator, National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority attended the ceremony as guests.
