Army Motor Riders Shine in the ‘Mahameruwa Rally Cross - 2024’

The ‘Mahameruwa Rally Cross – 2024’ kicked off at Giriulla Mahameruwa motor track from 13-14 January with participants from across the island. Accordingly, Army motor riders clinched 12 medals across various categories in the competition. The achievers are as follows:

1. Corporal B.I. Maduranga - Sri Lanka Corps of Military Police

- SM – Super Motard 250/450 cc open event (Race 1) - 1st place

- SM – Super Motard 250/450 cc open event (Race 2) - 3rd place

2. Lance Corporal W.A. Kumarasinghe – 4 Sri Lanka Army Service Corps

- MX – Standard 250 cc event - 1st Place

- MX – Racing 250 cc event (Race 1) - 2nd place

- MX – Racing 250 cc event (Race 2) - 3rd place

3. Lance Corporal H.M.S. Gayan – 7 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

- MX – Standard 125cc event - 2nd place

4. Lance Corporal K.D.R. Jayashan - 8 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

- MX – Standard 125 cc event - 1st place

- MX – Standard 250 cc event - 3rd place

5. Gunner T.K.R.N.S. Kumara – 12 Sri Lanka Artillery

- MX – Racing 125cc event - 3rd Place

6. Private H.A. Shehara - 5 Sri Lanka Army Electrical and Mechanical Engineers

- MX – Standard 125cc event - 3rd Place

7. Private L.B.D. Senevirathna – Gajaba Regiment
