Army Men’s Handball Team Defeats Seychelles Team in Friendly Encounter

A friendly handball tournament between Seychelles National handball team and Sri Lanka Army handball team on Wednesday (02 Aug) at the Indoor Stadium of the Army Physical Training School in Panagoda gave the win to the Army team.

During the tournament, Army Men’s team after an exciting encounter, won the game with 32 - 24 scores defeating the Seychelles National handball Men’s team. At the same time, Seychelles Women’s team won over Army Women’s team scoring 22 - 19 after a tough match.

Towards the end, Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndu pinned two souvenir badges on the Chairmen of the Seychelles National Handball Federation and the Sri Lanka National Handball Federation as tokens of goodwill and appreciation.

The Seychelles National handball team arrived in Sri Lanka on Saturday (29 July) and since then players and coaches of both countries have been spending valuable time for training, practice and entertainment during the stay.

Major General G.M.N Perera RWP RSP USP ndu, General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division and Chairman of Army Handball Committee graced the final matches as the chief guest together with Officials of the Sri Lanka National Handball Federation.
