Army Male & Female Golfers Do Well in DSG Championships

Army female and male Golf players secured both the Championship and the Runners-up slot respectively in the Defence Service Games - 2018 Golf tournament, played in the picturesque surrounding in Nuwaraeliya turf during 7-8 May.

Army Golf Committee took the lead in organizing the event on the directions given by the Commander of the Army as the Chairman of the DSG committee.

Major General Nirmal Darmarathne and Major General Jagath Gunawardane of the Army Golf SC represented the Army during the opening event.

Lance Corporal R.M.A.C Rathnayake of the Army Women’s team, a leading golfer in the Army SC became the overall Champion and carried away the Best Woman Player award.

Major General Rukmal Dias, Commander, Security Forces – Central (SF-Cen) graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and distributed trophies to the winners.

Senior tri-service Officers and Golfers were also present during the both tournament and the subsequent awarding ceremony.
