Army Inter Regiment Boxing Meet Concludes at Panagoda

The Army Inter Regiment Boxing Meet took place at the Army Gymnasium in Panagoda from 07 April 2024 to 10 April 2024, featuring the participation of 113 male and female boxers representing 19 teams and 17 Regiments.

The event was organized by the Army Boxing Committee under the guidance of Major General M.K.U.P Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander of Security Forces – East and Chairman of the Army Boxing Committee.

In the men’s category, the Sri Lanka Armoured Corps became champions, securing 03 gold, 02 silver, and 03 bronze medals, while the Gajaba Regiment clinched the runner-up position with 03 gold, 01 silver, and 05 bronze medals. The Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment secured third place, earning 02 gold, 03 silver, and 03 bronze medals.

In the women’s category, the Sri Lanka Army Service Corps secured the championship with 05 gold medals, while the Sri Lanka Engineers clinched the runner-up position with 02 gold, 03 silver, and 02 bronze medals.

Major General A.K Rajapakse RSP, Master General Ordinance and Colonel Commandant of Sri Lanka Army Service Corps, graced the occasion as the chief guest and joined the awarding ceremony. Senior Officers, Officers and a large crowd of Other Ranks also witnessed the thrilling tournament.
