Army-innovated Hand Sanitizing Machine Shown to the President

A state-of-the art automated hand sanitizer machine, innovated by the the Research Analysis, Projection and Development Branch of the Sri Lanka Army was introduced to HE the President Gotabaya Rajapaksa at the Presidential Secretariat on Tuesday 06).

Representing the innovators, the Chief of Defence Staff and Army Commander General Shavendra Silva and Brigadier Sudath Udayasena, Director (Acting), Research Analysis, Projection and Development Branch were present at the occasion. Additional Secretary to HE the President Major General K.B Egodawela (Retd) was also associated with the occasion.

This Sri Lanka Army-manufactured hand disinfection machine at a relative low cost could hold four litres of disinfectant liquid and is capable of sterilizing hands of 600 people at a stretch. It operates automatically for 48 hours after charging and saves energy too.

The Army, prepared to produce more units to meet with the demand is also ready to share their technical knowledge and willingness to help anyone, interested in producing the machine on a large scale for the local or overseas market.
