To be in line with the guidelines given by Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, troops of the 65 Division under command to the Security Force Headquarters -Kilinochchi, together with a group of donors on Saturday (11) launched one more distribution of 225 dry ration packs, valued at about Rs 1 million among needy families in Ponnagar, Wellankulam and Uyilankulam villages.
Each relief pack contained rice, dhal, sugar, tea, soya packets, onions, potatoes, tinned fish, sprats and salt packets.
Under the directions of the Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi, Major General Jayantha Gunaratne and close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General D.M.H.D Bandara, troops of the 65 Division distributed those 225 dry ration packs in close cooperation with Grama Seva officials.
The project was sponsored by Watawala Tea Ceylon Ltd and its active ally, Massone BTL Pvt Ltd management and its staffers. General Officer Commanding, 65 Division, Major General D.M.H.D Bandara organized the mobile service for distribution with his troops.
