Students at Nagendra Vidyalaya in Poliyanpokkane Grama Niladari Division and Thambirasa Primary School in Punnaniravi Grama Niladari Division in Kilinochchi, following initiatives taken by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) received two separate sanitary complexes with sponsorship provided by a Sri Lankan expatiate in the US.
Dr Sukumar Nagendran in response to a request made by Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi donated Rs 5.5 lakhs for construction of those two sanitary complexes for both schools since students did not have proper facilities in the school premises.
Troops of 1 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment and 14 Sri Lanka National Guard under the guidance of Garrison Engineer troops of the 57 Division built those two sanitary complexes with funds made available by the donor.
On Thursday (9), Major General Ravipriya as the Chief Guest went to both schools and vested those new sanitary facilities in the students during brief ceremonies.
