With the coordination of the 515 Brigade serving Jaffna, the sacred Keeramalai Naguleshwaram temple recently received a new water purifying machine that can be used by devotees attending religious observances.
The installation inaugurated on Friday (09) during a brief ceremony with the participation of representatives of the main sponsor, Ceylon Biscuits Limited (CBL) has two water filters.
The new installation serves a long-felt need at this Hindu Kovil. The donor company has spent nearly Rs. 300,000/= on this humanitarian project in view of the importance of this service to large crowds visiting the temple daily.
The Chief Priest, Sivasri K. Naguleshwara Kurukkal conducted a Pooja before it was opened to the public.
Manager, CBL Public Relations, Mr. Janaka Boteju, Sales Supervisors, Mr. S. Thayalan and Mr. Anton, Civil Affairs Officer of the 515 Brigade Lieutenant Colonel Ranjith Ekanayake, Divisional Secretary for Thelippalai Mr. S. Muralitharan and senior officers of the Army and the Police attended the occasion.
The CBL built a drinking water well in Ilavalai, Jaffna a few months ago at the request of the 513 Brigade.
