Security Force HQ-Jaffna, together with troops in respective areas within a few days on the directions of the Head, NOCPCO converted Vaddakkodai Technical College building in Vaddakkodai to serve as a fully-furnished Intermediate Care Centre (ICC) where 200 infectees can be accommodated in the event of any emergency.
Major General Priyantha Perera, Commander, Security Forces-Jaffna on Thursday (12) undertook an inspection tour to find its readiness for use. Medical Officers, nursing staff and assistants from the Base Hospital at Manthikai, Point Pedro are expected to man the emergency ICC in case of any increase of COVID-19 patients in the peninsula.
A few Senior Officers and Health authorities joined the occasion.
