The 6-member Hockey championship, organized by the Rajarata University – Mihinthale got underway during 15-16 February at Rajarata University Hockey ground.
Sri Lanka Army, Navy, Air Force and many leading hockey clubs in the country competed in the championship tournament.
Army Hockey players (male) won the championship in the group ‘A’ and the runner-up plate championship.
Meanwhile Military Intelligence Corps team secured the championship of the ‘B’ group and Sri Lanka Artillery and Sri Lanka Electrical & Mechanical Engineers emerged as 2nd and 3rd place winners respectively. Sri Lanka Army General Service Corps team meanwhile won the plate championship and Gajaba Regiment was placed in the 2nd place of the event.
Best Player of the championship title went to Lance Bombardier W. V. D de Fernando and Best Goal Keeper title was achieved by Lance Bombardier T. K Heendeniya.
