Troops of the 661 Brigade of the 66 Infantry Division under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division and the Commander 661 Infantry Brigade taking to agriculture in keeping with guidelines given by the Commander of the Army in parallel with the ongoing ' Thuru Mithuru-Nawa Ratak' project have succeeded in cultivating 12 acres of land with paddy, sweet potatoes, green chillies, long beans, corn, brinjal, water melon and banana.
Prior to the sale of the harvest, troops delivered over 100 packs of fresh fruits and vegetables free of charge to low-income families in the area to their doorstep in view of COVID-19 restrictions placed on them and the Police curfew in force.
The harvest is to be sold at very concessionary rate to the local population in Pooneryn area in order to increase their living standards and promote civil-military relations. url clone | UOMO, SCARPE
