Twelve disable War Heroes of the Army are to participate in the World Championship Volley Ball Tournament, scheduled to be held in Cambodia between July 20 - 30.
This is the first time a volley ball team from Sri Lanka has been selected to attend a World Championship Tournament, held overseas. Slovakia, Laos, Cambodia, Kazakhstan, Germany, India, Malaysia, Egypt, China, Thailand and Australia are also to be represented in the tournament.
Major General E.P. De Z Abeysekara (chief of the team), Karunaratne Wickremasinghe (Secretary), A.C.K Arthanayaka (team leader), Lalith Premalal (coach) and Anura Sumanasekara (assistant coach) will accompany them to Cambodia.
