Army Cricket Makes History Producing Its First Scorekeeper to Test Match Series

Cricket history of the Sri Lanka Army has now entered into a new phase after Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) for the first time, selected Lance Bombardier R.T Sandaruwan to be the main Scorekeeper of the ongoing Sri Lanka Vs Pakistan first Test Match, now underway in Galle.

Sri Lanka Army Cricket Club has already produced two players to the Sri Lanka’s National Cricket Team, five woman players to the Sri Lanka’s Women’s National Cricket Team and now, the Scorekeeper to the Sri Lanka Cricket Team, adding new strides to the field of cricketing in the country.

Lance Bombardier Sandaruwan’s entry, regarded as historic, came about following his excellent contribution to Army Cricket throughout since the year 2005, in which he became the Scorekeeper for the first time and afterwards in several premier cricket leagues, Inter District and Inter Provincial cricket tournaments during the years that followed up until today.

This was the first time the Army has ever produced a Scorekeeper to join an international test event, making a new record.
