Army Coordination Gets 570 Free Spectacles for Kilinochchi Civilians

Following active coordination done by the Security Force Headquarters - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) and the 57 Division Headquarters, a stock of 570 spectacles, sponsored by Malaysia’s Maha Karuna Buddhist Society and Sri Lanka’s Vidya Sivaloganathan Foundation were distributed among selected visually-impaired civilians in Visuamadu, Thottiadi, Chundikulam, Theravil, Punnaravi, Mailwaanapuram, Bharathiepuram and Nethaliaru areas during an event, organized at Saint Luke Church in Dharmapuram on Friday (8).

Representatives of the Maha Karuna Buddhist Society, Mrs Suvinitha Weerasingha, Chairperson, Sivaloganathan Foundation, Prof. M. Nandalal, Co-President of the Vidya Sivaloganathan Foundation, together with Major General Vijitha Ravipriya, General Officer Commanding, 57 Division took part in the distribution ceremony.

The project, launched after information regarding this health requirement was brought to the notice of Grama Seva officials and senior citizens in the area was one among such mammoth projects that had been so far implemented in the area where the 57 Division serves.
