Students learning from nine schools in newly resettled villages in Mannar on Monday (6) received school stationery, shoes and other sports equipment through a donation organized and coordinated by the Army’s 613 Brigade under 61 Division.
Those items sponsored by the priest at Anjanier Church Dehiwala in close cooperation with the General Officer Commanding in the 61 Division Brigadier A. Kariyakarawana were recently distributed among the students during a simple ceremony at the Thatsanamaradamadu Government Tamil Mixed School in Palampiddi, Mannar.
The occasion was attended by all principals in recipient schools, teachers, parents and several senior officers of the Army.
