Army Commander Reviews Independence Day Rehearsals at Kegalle

           
Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Daya Rathnayake, in order to inspect military arrangements in place in connection with the forthcoming 66th Independence Day, inspected military parade rehearsals on Sunday (02).
 
The main Independence Day ceremony, headed by President Mahinda Rajapaksa, will take place in the heart of Kegalle town with the participation of some 2586 personnel of the tri-services, Police and Civil Defence Force.
 
Lieutenant General Daya Rathnayake after visiting the rehearsals gave further instructions for those in charge of the parades to make some qualitative improvements and other necessary changes in the Army sections.
 
Afterwards, Lieutenant General Rathnayake, together with senior officers visited temporary accommodation facilities for Army personnel participating in the celebrations and inquired into their needs and other requirements, if any.
