Army Commander Receives Army Doctrinal Publications (Volume -2), Compiled by Dte of RCD

Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army on Thursday (25) during a brief ceremony at the Army Headquarters received maiden copies of the 'Special Operations Forces' Doctrine, four 'Army Field' Manuals and the 'General Staff Publication on Intelligence', compiled by the Directorate of Research Concept and Doctrine (Dte of RCD) of the Sri Lanka Army.

Major General G.W.A Senevirathne USP psc, Director General Research Concept and Doctrine, extended a warm welcome to the Chief Guest, Commander of the Sri Lanka Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage and other invitees for the day's event before Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Director General General Staff presented the Chief Guest with the first copies of those publications. E-copies of the publications were also simultaneously released by the Chief Guest.

Simultaneously Staff Officers of Dte of RCD distributed separate copies for Senior Officers who were present at the event. Those publications distinctively spell out guidelines, provisions and methods of application that should be pursued in the execution of military responsibilities and specific roles.

Afterwards, the day’s chief guest undertook a visit to the Research Analysis Projection and Development (RAP & D) Wing of Dte of RCD headed by Brigadier H.C.L Galappaththi RSP USP and inspected several new innovations designed by the RAP & D wing. Among those innovations were an Unmanned Ariel Vehicle (UAV), a 3D Mapping Project, an Air Filter Cleaning Machine, a Low-cost Multi Barrel Rocket Launcher (MBRL) Charging Regulator, a Vehicle Speed Limit Smart Indicator and a CDI Ignition Coil Spark Plug Testing Machine. The Commander of the Army closely inspected those innovations and commended the staff in the Wing.

Major General C.D Weerasooriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff, Major General D.G.S Senarath Yapa RWP RSP ndu, Deputy Chief of Staff, Major General S.U.M.N Manage WWV RWP RSP psc, Director General General Staff, Major General D.M.K.D.B Pussella RWP RSP, Commander, Security Forces - West and several other Senior Officers participated in the event.
