Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army, extending warm greetings and best wishes took time off to present symbols of new authority to just-promoted two Major Generals of the Army after inviting both to the Commander’s Office on Monday (25 Sep).
Major General M.T.I Mahalekam WWV RWP RSP USP ndu psc, Commandant, Sri Lanka Military Academy and Major General K.A.N Rasika Kumara psc who is currently following the National Defence College (NDC) Course thus received symbols of authority assuring that both of them would further commit and perform duties with enhanced courage.
After cordial interactions and greetings, the Commander of the Army presented the symbolic General’s sword to the new two-star Generals to signify their new authority.
Those Officers thanking the Commander of the Army for his warm wishes added memories to the occasion by posing for several photos.
Both Senior Officers were promoted on 13 September, but due to service commitments, both of them were unable to call on the Commander of the Army when other promoted Senior Officers received their symbols of authority a few days ago on 13 September.
