At the request of the Civil Development Committee (CDC) in Jaffna, Security Force Headquarters-Jaffna (SFHQ-J) organized a meeting at Anakottai in Manipai with the objective of finding solutions to the spread of Parthenium wild bush and other health concerns in the area.
The meeting, jointly presided by Brigadier Priyantha Perera, 513 Brigade Commander and Mr T. Chandrapalan, President, CDC was attended by CDC Secretary Mr Thruchelvam and a group of CDC members.
The meeting also enlightened the attendees on new scholarship programmes, being launched by the SFHQ-J after new initiatives were introduced.
During the meeting the Army requested to support of CDC members to the intended project for cleaning of the surroundings near Jaffna children’s orphanages and homes for adults.
