Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RSP ctf-ndu psc IG, Commander of the Army, along with Mrs. Swendrini Rodrigo, President of the Army Seva Vanitha Unit (ASVU), visited War Heroes at Abhimansala 3 Wellness Resort in Pangolla on Wednesday (5 February).
Upon arrival, the day's Chief Guest was accorded a drive pass at the entrance in accordance with military formalities. Afterwards, two resident War Heroes welcomed the Commander of the Army along with other Senior Officers.
Later on, the Commander of the Army, along with the gathering, visited the villas, the hospital, the DPM Ayurvedic Hospital, and Abiman Shilpa Piyasa located in the premises.
Following this, the Commander of the Army and the President of the ASVU distributed gift packs to the residents.
Later, symbolising the day's visit, two residents presented a handcrafted item and a mystery painting created by the War Heroes to the Commander of the Army and the President of the ASVU.
Before departing, the Army Chief posed for a group photograph with the inmates and left complimentary remarks in the visitors' book.
Major General K.V.N.P Premaratne RSP USP nps psc, the Adjutant General of Sri Lanka Army, Major General W.M.P.M Wijesooriya RWP RSP ndu, General Officer Commanding, 57 Infantry Division, Brigadier W.A.S.R Wijedasa WWV RSP USP ndc psc, Director of Veterans Affairs and Rehabilitation, Brigadier G.R.S Dharmarathne USP, Commandant of Abhimansala 3, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present at the event.
