The "Vijaya Poson Gee Saraniya" event was held at Vijaya College, Matale, on 22 June 2024, with Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, the Commander of the Army and an esteemed alumnus of Vijaya College, gracing the occasion as the chief guest.
The chief guest was warmly welcomed by Mr. Rajitha Theekshana, the Principal of the school, and Mr. Nishantha Dias, the Secretary of the past pupil association. The day's proceedings commenced with the arrival of the distinguished guest and the singing of the school song by all attendees. The lighting of the traditional oil lamp by all invitees added a significant touch to the event.
Following this, the Principal of Vijaya College, delivered a heartfelt welcome note to the audience, setting a warm tone for the celebration.
The event featured the singing of Poson Bhakti Gee by students from 28 schools across the Matale district, and this was followed by mesmerizing performances by renowned singers who intonated the Poson Bhakti Geetha, enriching the atmosphere with their melodious voices.
The festivity concluded with the singing of the National Anthem, marking the successful termination of the event, and senior officers, school staff, past students of the school, students, and beloved parents participated in the event.
