The third day of the Vesak Bakthi Gee (Songs of religious devotion) – 2024 organised by the Presidential Secretariat, was conducted at Galle Face Vesak Zone on 25 May 2024.
Mr. E.M.S.B Ekanayake, Secretary to the President of Sri Lanka, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, Commander of the Army and Mrs. Janaki Liyanage, President of Army Seva Vanitha Unit also took part in the programme.
At the outset, the event commenced with the lighting the Vesak Zone by the Army Chief and his spouse as the Chief Guest followed by the Vesak Bakthi Gee and cultural event conducted at the decorated platform by the Army troops.
Afterwards, Army Chief and other invitees illuminated the Vesak Thorana (Vesak Pandol) created at the Galle Face Vesak Zone. Meanwhile, the rice dansala (Free giveaway) was commenced by the Presidential Secretariat for all the devotees.
Government Officials, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and a large crowd of devotees took part in the event.
