The awarding ceremony of the six-day long ‘10th Damso International Chess Festival 2023’, competed by over 500 male and female players from Sri Lanka and abroad got underway at Lavanga Resort and Spa, Hikkaduwa from 27 to 30 May.
The Sri Lanka Army team won the Government and Mercantile Team category championship while the Sri Lanka Navy ‘B’ and Sri Lanka Navy ‘A’ teams became 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.
The 10th Damso International Chess Festival 2023 (DICF) is annually organized by the Old Boys’ Chess Association of Dharmasoka College, Ambalangoda. DICF 2023 is recognized by the Chess Federation of Sri Lanka, Asian Chess Federation and World Chess Federation.
