TO COINCIDE with forthcoming Christmas celebrations, the Christian Association of the Sri Lanka Army organized a Christmas Carol presentation Wednesday (23) evening at the Christ Church on Bauddhaloka Mawatha, Colombo 7. The chief guest for the event was the Commander of the Army Lieutenant General Jagath Jayasuriya.
Members of the Army Band, school students and popular singers sang odes to Prince of the Peace, Jesus Christ before the audience.
Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Christian Association Major General G.P.R. de Silva Senior Army Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present on the occasion. Rt. Rev. Duleep de Chickera, Bishop of Colombo, Rev. Malinda de Mel, Assistant Curate, Rev. Fr. Joseph Benedict, Sri Lanka Army Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Rector, teachers and the choir of St. Sebastian’s College, Moratuwa and principal, teachers and choir of the Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya, were also present.
This annual event organized on the eve of Christmas is customary to the Sri Lanka Army.
