The Sri Lanka Army team (male) competing against players of 18 countries won the runner-up title in the 8th World carom Championship, held in Malayasia during 3 -7 October.
Lance Corporal W.S.M Fernando of the Vijayabhahu Infantry Regiment was the runner-up in the finals with the Indian competitors. Similarly, Lance Corporal R.D Gabriel of the Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps won the 3rd place in the women’s category by competing against her counterparts of Bangladesh.
Similarly, Lance Corporal E.P.N.M Gunadasa of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps won the 3rd place in the event by competing with Bangladesh.
