Army-Built New House Vested in Beneficiaries in Kodikamam

Army troops-built and a donor-sponsored new house for a needy Jaffna family was vested in the beneficiaries on Monday (5) during a brief ceremony, held at the venue in Kodikamam, Jaffna.

15 Gajaba Regiment troops of the 522 Brigade using their skilled technical know-how built the new house with 2 bed rooms, sitting room and a kitchen. The popular singer, Mr Bathiya Jayakody and the project coordinator, Mr Chinthaka De Soyza, sponsored the construction of the new house at the request of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J). The sponsors also furnished the house with new furniture before it was opened by the beneficiary, Mrs Rajaraththiram Jayakumari and her family members after cutting a ribbon.

Major General Ruwan Wanigasooriya, Commander, Security Forces - Jaffna (SF-J) as the Chief Guest for the house-warming in accordance with Hindu traditions took part in the presence of the donor, Mr Bathiya Jayakody and Mr Chinthaka De Soyza.
