The men and women “NOVICE” boxing meet conducted by the Amateur Boxing Association of Sri Lanka (ABA) was held at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium on April 24 to 28.
Boxers from Sri Lanka Army after competing with 208 boxer’s from 16 sports club secured, in men’s events, 3 championships in 3 weight category’s and runners up in another 2 category’s and in woman’s category, boxer’s clinched 2 championships in two weight class. All the events were conducted according to the 2013 rules set by the governing body AIBA.
The best loser’s trophy was won by Gunner H.B.P.S Rathnayaka and the best women’s boxer’s award was won by Private W.H.M.S.R Herath.
