Army Boxers Carry Away ‘Best Team’ Championship

Sri Lanka Army boxers showed their colours in the just-concluded 92nd ‘BASL Men’s & Women’s’ National Boxing Championship – 2017, held at Royal College MAS Arena in Reid Avenue, Colombo 7 during 17-20 January 2018.

Organized by the Sri Lanka Amateur Boxing Association (ABA), the tournament was competed by more than 100 boxers, representing famous boxing clubs across the country during the 4 days of the tournament.

Male & Female boxers of the Army during the tournament won the Best Team Championship trophy.

Army boxer Corporal P.D.D Maduranga was named as the Best Male Boxer in the tournament while Corporal S.H.S Priyadarshani won the Best Loser award in the Women’s category.

Major General Rukmal Dias, Chairman, Sri Lanka Army Boxing Committee was behind the arrangements of the tournament.
