An Army internal audit team conducting an audit on preparation of salaries for members of the civil staff, attached to the Army at Anuradhapura Regional Accountant’s Office during initial investigations, has detected a fraud of about Rs 6 lakhs.Army internal audit teams routinely conduct such investigations on all island-wide Army establishments and detection of this fraud was made during auditing at Anuradhapura Accountant’s office.
Anuradhapura Police and Sri Lanka Army Military Police are conducting investigations.
