Sri Lanka's National Team athlete Lance Corporal Niluka Geethani Rajasekara of Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps (SLAWC) rose to the fifth place in the women’s category of the 15 Asian Marathon in Hong Kong with two hours, 40 minutes and .7 seconds of time.
Lance Corporal Rajasekara broke the remaining Sri Lankan record for the fastest time and has exceeded the qualifying time to participate in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
Lance Corporal Rajasekara, together with her team arrived in Sri Lanka from Hong Kong on Monday (26).
She and the team were received warmly by Lieutenant Colonel Manjula Perera of Sri Lanka Light Infantry.
