The new office building complex of the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock (Dte of A & L) of the Army was formally warmed this afternoon (14) during a simple ceremony at Panagoda Army Cantonment.
Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage, Commander of the Army as the Chief Guest, together with Major General C.D Weerasuriya RWP RSP ndu, Chief of Staff joined the inauguration of the new facility.
Brigadier A.K Rajapaksa RSP, Director, Dte of A & L warmly welcomed the day’s distinguished guests in front of the new office complex, together with Officers of the Directorate and invited them to warm the new building.
By unveiling a plaque and cutting a ribbon amidst ‘Seth Pirith’ chanting of the Maha Sangha present there, the Chief Guest and Senior Officers walked into the new complex and had a close look visiting every section of the new office complex. They also inquired into its different administrative functions and received information as regards the functional aspects of agricultural projects, spearheaded by Army personnel.
Towards the end of the opening, the occasion received memories as distinguished guests were invited to pose for several group photographs.
Director, Dte of A & L during refreshments awarded a special memento to the Commander of the Army appreciating the guidance given by him to the Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock.
