Troops of the Security Force Headquarters - East (SFHQ-E) celebrated their 12th anniversary on a grand scale with a series of programmes during October 26 -31.
Religious observances commenced with a Mal Pooja at Somawathiya Temple, a 'Kapruka Pooja' and a ‘Pooja’ at Mahasen Dewalaya to receive blessings on the troops in the SFHQ-E.
Moreover, a blood donation campaign was conducted at the SFHQ-E premises on Thursday (29) to coincide with anniversary events. 170 officers and other ranks donated blood.
In the meantime, the newly constructed library of the SFHQ-E was opened by Major General N.J Walgama, Commander SFHQ-E at the auspicious minute on Saturday (31), followed by a tree planting ceremony at the SFHQ-E premises.
An all rank lunch culminated the anniversary celebrations of the SFHQ-E.
