Ambassadors of Gulf Cooperation Council Call at SFHQ-J

A delegation of diplomats of the Gulf Cooperation Council, based in Sri Lanka during a familiarization tour to the Jaffna peninsula, called at the office of Major General Mahesh Senanayaka, Commander, Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J) in Palaly on Monday (7).

After receiving them on arrival, the Commander, SFHQ-J presented an updated account on ongoing development projects, reconciliatory moves, security situation, civil military relations, other social and cultural aspects in the peninsula while explaining the contribution, being made by the SFHQ-J to the implementation of such projects at the request of the civil authorities and the government.  

The delegation, comprised of the Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates to Sri Lanka HE, Abdulhamib A.K Al Mulla, the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Sri Lanka HE, Hisham Assran, the Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to Sri Lanka HE, Al Shekh Jumahg Hamdan Al Shehi, Charge d’ Affairs of the State of Palestine to Sri Lanka Mr. Mohammad S A Hallaq and the Ambassador of Kuwait to Sri Lanka HE, Kalaf Bu Dhhiar, received an overall view of the status quo. 

Before their departure, an exchange of mementos took place at the SFHQ-J office. 

After the discussions at the SFHQ-J, the diplomats visited significant places in Jaffna, including Nallur Kovil Temple, Jumma Mosque, Jaffna Fort and the Cement Factory at Kankesanthurai.
