All Four New Majors General Receive Insignia from the Army Chief

At the Commander’s office in the Army Headquarters, all four just-promoted Majors General of the Army this morning (3) received their new insignia from the Chief of Defence Staff and Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva adding memories to their careers.

Accordingly, the Commander of the Army extending best wishes to all four of them pinned new rank insignia on Brigadier Indrajith Kandanaarachchi, Director, Directorate of Agriculture and Livestock, Brigadier Chandana Wijeyasundera, General Officer Commanding, Engineer Division, Brigadier Kithsiri Liyanage, General Officer Commanding, 52 Division and Brigadier Christi Jayasinghe, Deputy Commandant, Sri Lanka Army Volunteer Force.

During the brief interaction, Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva congratulated them and wished them good luck with their future endeavours. On the recommendations of the Ministry of Defence and the Commander of the Army, HE the President has approved those promotions in his capacity as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces.
