The Security Force HQ - Kilinochchi (SFHQ-KLN) implementing the government’s policy of encouraging organic fertilizer production process in the region has started the project inside camps of the 66 Division, 661 Brigade HQ, 662 Brigade HQ, 663 Brigade HQ and under command Infantry battalions of 24 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment (VIR), 20 Sri Lanka Light Infantry (SLLI), 20 VIR, 11 (V) Gajaba Regiment, 5(V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR) and 2 Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG).
These projects, initiated under the guidance of Major General Harendra Ranasinghe, Commander, Security Forces - Kilinochchi are now in progress under the close supervision of the General Officer Commanding, 66 Division, Commander, 661 Brigade Colonel Deeptha Ariyasena, Commander, 662 Brigade Colonel Chaminda Liyanage and Commander 663 Brigade Brigadier Subasana Liyanagama.
This project expects to improve community awareness on the advantages of organic fertilizer and the Army expects to provide technical support to local farmers for production of their own organic fertilizer once their production was made a success.
