Security Force Headquarters-Mullaittivu (SFHQ-MLT) extended its fullest cooperation to the conduct of the annual feast of the historic St Anthony’s Roman Catholic Church at Alampil, Mullaittivu on Thursday (12).
The feast, the biggest one in the province with state patronage is held every year on account of the death anniversary of the Saint.
Sri Lanka Army troops at the request of Rev Erick Roshan, pastor, cleaned up the premises, beautified the area and offered meals to all the devotees who attended the night mass on Thursday (12).
Major General Jagath Dias, Commander, SFHQ-MLT, Major General A.S.De Z Wickramaratne, General Officer Commanding, 59 Division, Mr C.M Mohanras, Additional Secretary, Mullaittivu and several senior citizens in the area attended the night mass, together with other devotees.
Hundreds of devotees took part in the feast and Army troops provided drinking water to the visitors.
